Food glorious food!
Just because we’re living on a budget doesn’t mean we must eat only lumpy grey gruel. Au contraire, my little thrift demons. I myself would never give up good food for the sake of frugality, simply because there is no need to. It’s all a question of innovation.

Time to give peas a chance!
For example, peas cost a very little when compared to avocados, so to make a guacomole-style dip that literally costs pennies, choose those darling little green pod dwellers instead. Frozen will do, and you needn’t worry about using petit pois, garden peas are fine, you are going to mash them to a pulp anyways. Go on, give peas a chance. Sorry couldn’t resist that.
Christmas Christmas Christmas

We're dreaming of a (frugal) Warburton's Christmas
While we’re talking food and it is mid December I know that many of you will already have started having Christmas Dinner related nightmares, you know the sort of thing… you are being pursued by a giant turkey who wants to eat all your money… okay, maybe that’s just me, but… it’s a fact that many of us overspend when it comes to our festive fare and there’s really no need to. Paul Warburton shows you how to keep costs low, tums full and spirits high with his economical but gastronomically good Christmas Dinner over at lovemoney.com – pricing is in UK sterling but the frugality of the meal is universal so don’t let that put you off if you work in dollars or euros or any other currency. Is this guy ever my new best friend? I have, of course, invited myself to his house for Christmas fodder… not because I am too mean to cook my own but because his looks like a seriously good spread! The man’s a gourmet and us girls love a guy who loves food, right.
If you’re hungry for more of Chef Warburton’s frugal recipes you can check him out in the ‘feed five for under a fiver’ section of the same site. Again, Brit Paul works in sterling and references UK stores and products but we all get the gist, right.
